On Monday the 14th we had to work out the
9th square pattern. Some of the things that learnt is when you argue with your group to get the right answer is not going to get you anywhere you just have to have to calm down and not be that annoyed as a I was. Even though we were shouting at each other we got threw it . That when your making a nine square you have to make sure all the square are joint like in the photo not separated or else you wont get the right answer . Well the answer that our group got was 28 how well we figured out a rule like 1st pattern would be 4 and the 2nd square pattern would be 7 and the 3rd square pattern would be 10 and when we were doing that we figured out that you have to keep adding 3 .
This sis a photo of our group working out the patterns one other thing that we learnt
you can also use your times tables subtraction and addition to work out any square patterns for example the fifth square pattern 20-1=19 19 times 3 then 19 times 3=36 9 times 3=27 then 57+4=61.
This is Ben And savannah also trying to figure out the qth 5th 20th square pattern.
They are working out the rule but they forgot to join the squares instead of separating them .
This is Nejwa and Fififta.U also working out the qth square pattern
They are working hard I wonder if there group was arguing to see if there answer was right like how my group was.
We had so much fun working out the qth 5th and 20th square pattern there was allot of arguing but we still had fun you should try its fun well I think it is have you done it before well you should its good for your knowledge thank you.
Great post about your perseverance during this Maths challenge Danae. I like how you asked your audience questions to involve them also.
