Samoan language week.

                                                                        Welcome to
                                                                           Samoa

Talofa lava o lou ingoa o Danae. Hi my name is Danae  2 weeks ago we had the most exciting fun hard-working week.SAMOAN LANGUAGE WEEK. If you want to read more on what we did keep reading.
On Monday our first activity we got to do was teach kids about the yummy samoan (mea ai food) that we eat in Samoa.

This was one of our 4 different foods that we were talking about that day.So in this photo is Mamere and Sili are showing Rm 14 kids how to make Samoan coco and how it is transformed into a hot drink which is one of my mums favorite hot Samoan beverage to drink. Hmm yummy.
Here is another Samoan food/drink that a lot of Samoans drink and eat.
This is called the coconut also known in Samoa Po Po now a lot of other pacific islands have coconut trees ans Samoa is one of them so as you can see. Komiti (James) is taking out he  coconut/Po Po out of its shell into a bowl.Which he will use to make coconut cream but he will squeeze it fist to get the juice.
Now here is Harriet and Sherona talking about the precious valuable jewelry that Samoan people make just out of coconut, carving knives, metal pieces, and paint. There are also fans made out of old flax and raffia, and sometimes paint, colored die ,feathers, shells.

In this photo  as you can see we had our Samoan
assembly and we were getting ready to dance.
After our assembly we ate ALLOT of food and we also got Chopsuey and rice.
Then we went out to play then we sang songs and laughed and went home early from along week of fun.
Fa'aa fetai lava thank you so much for reading my
blog post about our special week about Samoa.
